The area i hike my dog is forested mountains...not flat and this TRACKER WORKS ! Cell phone units did not work for me. The peace of mind this has given me was worth every penny...in fact i purchased another one for back up ! I have put his Tracker 2 on him and walked away from my truck forgetting the controller like a dummy and i was uneasy the whole hike ! I hike twice a day and simply put its a must have for me !!!
I have two Aorkuler 2 dog GPS trackers (one for each of my dogs). I needed a way to track them "just in case" as we frequently hike and both are off leash hikers that do roam a bit off trail. The Aorkuler GPS tracker was easy to set up and simple to use. I big perk for me was that it doesn't require a subscription like so many others in this category do. While I haven't had to use it yet to find one of my dogs (knock wood) I have tested it on the trail and it does appear to give a good reading on my dog's location and distance. I liked that Aorkuler has added a second color which makes it easier for me to keep the correct tracker paired with the correct remote. I also appreciate that their customer service is responsive to a couple questions I had after my purchase.
Exactly as advertized. It's an 'event' tracker; this is not for continuous tracking over days or weeks like you get with a monthly or annual subscription. I charge the handheld monitor and the collar tag/tracker, and i turn the collar tag on when I let her out. The handheld takes a minute or two to sync the GPS signal and, once connected, does provide direction and distance just as in the description and pictures. If I forget to turn the collar tag off when we come in, it will need to be charged after about a day. But a great alternative to expensive subscription-based tracking-all-the-time trackers for heading out for a few hours in the middle of nowhere.
The simplicity of the tracker is just what we needed. Works very well! Great peace of mind!
We live out in the country with sporadic cell service and couldn't use an AirTag so this GPS tracker has been wonderful. The tracker takes a bit of time to find the GPS, which is placed on her harness because collars don't last on her long, and lags about 2-3 minutes behind her actual movement but on acreage without fences and not using a leash, it gives us the general direction and location of our dog so we can take our ATV to go get her! Only issue is that after turning it off and seeing the red light to indicate it is actually off, it seems to turn itself back on and then has to be charged again before the next walk around our property which, time wise, doesn't always work out! The battery life is good when it stays off between walks and she doesn't even notice the weight of it on her harness (not heavy) so it's a win-win for all of us. It's worth the price and we are glad we purchased it as it keeps us from having to drive around in the ATV or car for 30 minutes looking for her.
